Job summary

Avera St Anthony's Hospital in Nebraska is seeking an Admissions Specialist to register patients quickly and accurately, verify insurance, collect co-payments, and establish accounts and medical record numbers. You will interact with patients, care teams, and external payers to ensure smooth admissions and billing workflows.

Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment are essential.

Qualifications

Must be able to register patients accurately and efficiently.
Experience with insurance verification and patient billing is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Responsibilities

Register patients and create accounts/medical record numbers in a timely manner.
Enter demographic and insurance information following established standards.
Verify insurance coverage and perform pre-certification/authorization where needed.
Collect patient co-payments, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket expenses.
Educate patients about plan benefits and deposit requirements.
Maintain positive customer relations and provide patient rights information.
Coordinate communications with patients, staff, providers, and external financial entities.
