Job summary

Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in Nebraska is seeking an Admissions Specialist to register patients quickly and accurately, establishing accounts and medical record numbers, and verifying insurance coverage.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent required.
• Healthcare experience 1-3 years in billing, insurance or registration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients in a timely and accurate manner, establishing accounts and medical record numbers.
• Verify insurance coverage and communicate copays, deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses to patients.
• Complete insurance verifications and pre-certifications/authorizations for assigned accounts.
• Coordinate communication with patients, staff, providers and external financial agencies.
• Assist in bed assignments and monitor registration efficiency and accuracy.
