Job summary

Hartford HealthCare which includes MidState Medical Center is seeking an administrative coordinator to support nursing unit operations. You will coordinate communications, requisition supplies, and assist with reception and clerical duties to ensure efficient patient care flow.

The role requires a high school diploma, 1–2 years of administrative experience, and strong keyboarding, PC skills, and medical terminology knowledge. Multi-tasking and prioritization are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education preferred.
  • 1–2 years of administrative experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in keyboarding, PC skills, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate nursing unit activities through effective communication with staff, patients, physicians and departments.
  • Assist with reception and clerical duties to support efficient unit operation.
  • Handle requisitioning and management of supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Maintain smooth patient flow and support daily administrative tasks.

Job Description:

The CIA through communication, requisitioning and management of supplies and equipment, coordinates the activities of the nursing staff, the patient, the physician, other hospital departments and visitors. He/she performs general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.

  • High school graduate or equivalent, additional education preferred.
  • One-two years of administrative experience is preferred.
  • Requires good keyboarding and PC skills, good communication, telephone skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and proficiency in use of various office machinery.
  • Must be able to multi task and set priorities.
