Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Hartford Hospital campus is seeking a Patient Administrative Associate to join the patient care team. Under supervision of a Registered Nurse or Unit Manager, you will provide administrative support, coordinate information flow, and assist with front-desk duties as needed.

This role contributes to safe, efficient patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment. Requirements include proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English, basic math, and strong communication

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read, write, speak English and perform basic math.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent; hospital-based work experience; CPR validation may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the patient care team.
  • Communicate with health care team, patients and families.
  • Report to Manager, Patient Unit and assist with regulatory and hospital standards.

Job Summary

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Unit Manager, the Patient Administrative Associate performs delegated functions as a member of a patient care team by providing administrative support and communicating with members of the health care team, patients and families. This role contributes to the successful operation of the work area and functions in accordance with all existing regulatory and hospital standards, policies and procedures. Reports to Manager, Patient Unit.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English, and perform basic Mathematics.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Basic Computer Skills Required

  • Ability to perform physical effort as specified by position physical requirements and occupational exposure form.
Preferred
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Hospital based or physician office work experience.
  • Demonstrated competencies in a related health field at Hartford Hospital
  • CPR validation may be required within three months of hire depending upon work area specific requirement
