Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Patient Administrative Associate to join Hartford Hospital in a role supporting the patient care team. You will provide administrative support and act as a liaison among health care staff, patients, and families to ensure smooth operation.

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Unit Manager, you will help maintain regulatory compliance and hospital procedures while contributing to a patient-centered environment that emphasizes quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • Reading, writing, and speaking English required.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Must meet position physical requirements as specified.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support as part of the patient care team.
  • Communicate with health care team, patients and families.
  • Contribute to smooth operation in accordance with hospital standards and policies.
  • Reports to the Manager of the patient unit.

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Unit Manager, the Patient Administrative Associate performs delegated functions as a member of a patient care team by providing administrative support and communicating with members of the health care team, patients and families. This role contributes to the successful operation of the work area and functions in accordance with all existing regulatory and hospital standards, policies and procedures. Reports to Manager of the patient unit.

REQUIRED:
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English, and perform basic Mathematics.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to perform physical effort as specified by position physical requirements and occupational exposure form.
PREFERRED:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Hospital based or physician office work experience.
  • Demonstrated competencies in a related health field at Hartford Hospital
  • CPR validation may be required within three months of hire depending upon work area specific requirement
