Job summary

Lincoln County Public Health is seeking a Patient Account Supervisor to oversee billing, patient services, and compliance. The role supervises staff, coordinates clinic scheduling, and ensures accurate financial processing.

It requires strong accounting and billing knowledge and the ability to train personnel while maintaining high standards of care. The supervisor will lead financial reviews, manage aged accounts, and ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and at least five years of clerical experience in credit or collection work, including two years with patient accounts.
• Experience in accounting and/or medical billing preferred.
• Valid North Carolina driver's license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Manage department operations including compliance, support functions, billing and patient services activities.
• Supervise, direct, train, approve time, evaluate, and discipline assigned staff.
• Monitor financial and billing activities involving aged accounts, contract billing, and bad debt write-off.
• Coordinate computer billing processes and daily operations; resolve questions and problems.
• Create, coordinate, and maintain clinic schedules; perform annual chart audits with Clinic Coordinator.
• Serve as HIPAA Compliance Officer and conduct annual HIPAA Risk Assessments.
• Submit work orders to IT/Maintenance for related issues; perform other duties as required.
