Job summary

EvergreenHealth in Kirkland, WA seeks a self-pay patient services representative to support payments for services and deliver excellent patient experience. You will assist with payment setup, payment plans, MyChart messages, and EMR queues in a fast-paced call center environment.

Responsibilities include processing payments, reviewing accounts, updating demographics/insurance, offering financial assistance screenings, and resolving disputes with confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a customer service role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in diverse environments
• Demonstrated active listening and de-escalation skills
• Ability to document interactions accurately and follow processes
• Collaborate with coworkers to support department success
• Experience with healthcare payments or medical billing is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist self-pay patients with payment needs and set up payment arrangements
• Handle inbound/outbound calls and MyChart messages in a busy call center
• Verify identity and protect patient confidentiality
• Coordinate interpreter services as needed
• Process payments and monitor payment plans for timely balance resolution
• Provide information on Financial Assistance programs and conduct eligibility screenings
• Research and resolve disputes; escalate when necessary
• Assist with insurance coordination and verify coverage when applicable
• Maintain EMR documentation and monitor follow-ups
• Meet KPIs related to wait time, resolution, and payments collected
