LMH Health is seeking a Patient Accounts Representative to support billing questions, insurance claims, and payment concerns, helping ensure the financial health of the organization. The role emphasizes compassionate service and accurate claim handling.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8a-5p, with focus on customer service and adherence to third party payer requirements, patient communication, and timely account resolution.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two years’ experience in third party billing and follow up in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understands the importance of internal customer services.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship and communicates appropriately.
  • Maintains professional atmosphere through responsible actions and deeds.
  • Acts in a professional manner representing the department appropriately at all times.
  • Maintains knowledge and ensures compliance with third party payer and government billing requirements.
  • Responds to patient questions with concern at all times, treating them with respect and dignity.
  • Performs audits of patient accounts to ensure accuracy and timely payment.
  • Verify insurance benefits for commercial, Medicare and Medicaid Payers via phone and website.
  • Identifies and corrects billing errors and resubmits claims.
  • Ensures timely follow up and appropriate escalation of outstanding claims with third party payers.
  • Review EOB’s and initiate appeals as necessary.
  • Verifies payments and discounts with insurance carriers.
  • Works appeals and denials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position

Job Description

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8a-5p Are you passionate about helping people and providing exceptional customer service? As a Patient Accounts Representative, you will serve as a key resource for patients and their families by assisting with billing questions, insurance claims, and payment concerns, including self-pay balances. This role plays an important part in supporting patients through the financial aspects of their healthcare experience while helping ensure the financial health of the organization. Through compassionate service, problem-solving, and effective communication, you will make a meaningful impact on both the patient experience and successful account resolution.
