Job summary

LMH Health in Lawrence, KS is seeking a patient access registrar to join a team dedicated to delivering an exceptional patient experience. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with a focus on welcoming patients and ensuring accurate intake of information at registration.

You will interview patients or representatives, collect demographics and insurance details, educate patients on hospital policies and patient rights, and coordinate admissions across multiple service lines.

Qualifications

• 1 year prior related work experience.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to interview patients and collect information accurately.

Responsibilities

• Engages patients throughout the interaction to create a welcoming and confident patient experience.
• Confidentially collects patient demographic and insurance information accurately and documents into computer systems.
• Accurately completes all registration forms and ensures patient understanding of conditions of admission.
• Effectively communicates and educates patients on their rights and responsibilities and available access through the patient portal.
• Coordinates all hospital admission types: inpatient, outpatient, emergency and pre-admits.
• Maintains departmental expectations for POS collections, accuracy, wait times and other customer service measures.
• Comply with laws and regulations in maintaining patient information and confidentiality.
• Assumes other duties deemed necessary for exceptional patient interactions and customer service.
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position

Job Description

Work Scheduled: Mon - Fri, 8:00am - 4:30pm

I. JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the introduction to an exceptional patient experience through excellent customer service. Arrange for timely, efficient, and orderly registration of all patients presenting to the hospital. Interview patient or representative to ensure accurate collection of patient information, including insurance details. Educate all patients on appropriate hospital policies, procedures and patient rights.
