Job summary

TEKsystems seeks a Remote Patient Billing Advisor to handle inbound patient billing inquiries, explain balances, and assist with payments while delivering outstanding customer service. The role requires experience in healthcare CS or related billing, strong communication, and the ability to navigate high-volume calls.

Responsibilities include processing payments, educating patients on MyChart, and documenting interactions in Epic.

Location : Remote w/ Equipment provided (must reside within Virginia)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-8:00 PM EST

This role will be responsible for inbound patient billing inquiries, assist with payments, explain account balances, discuss payment plans and financial assistance options, and provide exceptional customer service while maintaining accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer inbound patient billing and payment-related calls
• Explain account balances, copays, deductibles, and coinsurance
• Process payments and assist with payment arrangements
• Educate patients on MyChart and self-service resources
• Assist patients with financial assistance inquiries
• Document all interactions within Epic
• Escalate complex issues to the appropriate department
• Deliver professional and compassionate customer service

Qualifications

• Previous healthcare customer service, medical billing, revenue cycle, or call center experience
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in a high-volume call center environment preferred
• Epic experience preferred
• Ability to handle sensitive patient conversations professionally

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Norfolk, VA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
