Guidehouse in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Patient Account Representative – Self-Pay to join our healthcare client services team. The role involves handling inbound and outbound calls, resolving patient accounts, and supporting insurance verifications.

The ideal candidate is bilingual in Spanish, has strong communication skills, and can work a Monday–Friday onsite schedule 7:00 AM–5:00 PM CT. Experience in healthcare billing or patient services is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; alternative: 3 years relevant experience.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• 0–2 years in healthcare, insurance, or customer service.
• Knowledge of insurance claims, billing, and follow-up responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound and outbound calls with patients and insurance companies.
• Perform soft collections and account reviews.
• Assist with policy statuses and insurance verifications.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries via phone and mail.
• Update patient demographic information and initiate account adjustments.
• Coordinate with management on issues and improvements.

What You Will Do

The Patient Account Representative — Self-Pay – Healthcare is an extension of a client’s business office staff. Representatives are responsible for taking in-coming and out-going calls to patients and insurance companies to resolve patient accounts. All client policies and procedures are followed. Representatives will perform any and all job-related duties as assigned

Bilingual Spanish Preferred

This position will be based Monday through Friday out of our San Antonio, TX office. Individuals must be able to work an eight hour shift between the hours of 7:00 AM CT – 5:00 PM CT.

Position is onsite in the Guidehouse San Antonio, TX office.

The qualified individual will be receiving incoming calls and making outbound calls and soft collections.

What You Will Need

• High School Diploma / GED or 3 years of relevant equivalent experience in lieu of diploma / GED.
• Bilingual Spanish Preferred
• 0-2 years working within the following sectors: healthcare, insurance, business, finance or customer service.
• Working knowledge can be of the following: insurance claims, billing, coding, follow-up, finance, accounting or customer service related responsibilities.

What Would Be Nice to Have

• PC skills in a Windows environment. Knowledge and utilization of desktop applications to include Word and Excel.
• 1 year experience working in a Healthcare or Customer Service setting.
• Ability to initiate and follow through on projects and work independently with minimal supervision
