Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Patient Account Representative to perform the payment posting function for the MSO under supervision. You will post deposits, payments, denials and adjustments, and reconcile batches. You must maintain patient confidentiality and work well in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Requires a high school diploma and 1–3 years of related experience; CPT/ICD-9 knowledge is a plus, with familiarity of Athena/Waystar/Phreesia/EPIC systems. Benefits and growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding is a plus.

++What You Will Do++:

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs a variety of duties related to the payment posting function of the Management Services Organization (MSO).

Such duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Processes and/or posts deposits, payments, denials, and adjustments.
• Reconciles manual and electronic batches,
• Performs other duties as assigned by direct supervisors.
• Perform a variety of duties often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure;
• Accept responsibility for the direction, control and planning of an one’s own work;
• Ability to work independently;
• Recognize the rights and responsibilities of patient confidentiality;
• Convey empathy and compassion to those experiencing pain, physical or emotional distress and/or grief;
• Relate to others in a manner which creates a sense of teamwork and cooperation;
• Communicate effectively with people from every socioeconomic, cultural and educational background;
• Exhibit flexibility and cope effectively in an ever-changing, fast-paced healthcare environment;
