University Medical Center of El Paso is seeking a detail-oriented patient account clerk responsible for billing, collections and reconciliation from discharge through final settlement. The role requires applying charity allowances or other coverage per payer terms and ensuring accurate data entry and follow-up actions.
The ideal candidate has one year of related hospital or medical insurance office experience, familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid billing, and preferably CHAA certification.
Responsible for total patient account management to include billing, collections and reconciliation of patient accounts with Crime Victim compensation. Responsible for total-account-management to ensure charity allowances and/or other coverage is applied, as appropriate. These accounts are the representative’s responsibility from discharge until the account is reconciled as per payer contract terms and conditions and/or regulations.
One year related work experience in a hospital, physician or medical insurance office required. One year experience in medical/hospital billing and collections preferred.
Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent. Associate Degree preferred.
