Job summary

Allied Services is seeking a detail-oriented Patient Account Representative to join our patient accounting team. The role focuses on coordinating all necessary billing documents and processing third-party payor bills to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, familiarity with medical billing practices, and solid Excel skills. Experience in hospital billing and Payor clearinghouse processes is preferred.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Director of Patient Accounting, the Patient Account Representative is responsible for the coordination of all necessary billing documents and the processing of third-party payor bills.

Under the direction of the Director of Patient Accounting, the Patient Account Representative is responsible for the coordination of all necessary billing documents and the processing of third-party payor bills.

Assigned duties are implemented in a manner appropriate to the age-specific needs of the patients served.

Type of supervision exercised: none. Jobs reporting to this position: none.

EDUCATION:

High School graduate or equivalent is required.

Medical Billing and or Business courses preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of one (1) year in health care business office setting required.

Experience and working knowledge of insurance carrier billing requirements in hospital/medical billing preferred.

Experience In Point Click Care Preferred.

Working Knowledge of Payor Clearing House preferred.

Strong computer skills with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel preferred.

SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess exceptional organizational skills.

Ability to perform detailed work, and to do mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately required.

Must be able to demonstrate proficient personal computer skills.

Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective interaction with management, staff, patients, and outside agencies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Sedentary Work: duties require exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally (approx 10-33% of shift) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (approx 33-66% of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move articles such as files.

Involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Ability to transport self throughout facility is required.

May produce visual fatigue.
