Job summary

Qualifications

• Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

• Customer Services experience required.
• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required

Responsibilities

• Interviews patient or representative to collect demographics.
• Secures insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable.
• Coordinates with Admitting department including PBX and reception areas.
• Inputs and retrieves data on a computer.
• Communicates with patients across age groups using age-appropriate techniques.
• Maintains proficiency in medical terminology.
• May be assigned special projects with a specified timeframe.
