Job summary

St.-Rose-Hospital is seeking an Admitting Supervisor to oversee daily personnel management for the Patient Access and Communications teams. You will supervise staff, manage scheduling, and ensure audits and compliance within the department while maintaining service quality.

You will coordinate with patients, their representatives and care teams, stay available for on-call duties, and manage operations within budgetary limits for Admitting services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree or higher in Business Administration, Economics, or related field preferred.
• Sexual Harassment/Bullying Prevention Certification required (within 1 month from hire).
• Management or Supervisory experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, and commercial payers; proficient with EHR systems such as Meditech or Epic; proficient in Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• supervises patient registration, insurance verification, prior authorization, financial counseling and communications.
• calculates and tracks monthly point of service cash collections.
• ensures accurate processing of patient demographics, insurance information and billing data.
• oversees Main Admitting, ER Admitting, Hospital Services Office and Communications.
• creates monthly staff schedules for Patient Access and Communications; monitors attendance.
• oversees audits of advance directives, patient rights and HIPAA privacy practices.
• communicates department updates and process changes to staff timely.
• triages department issues and escalates to manager as appropriate.
• performs all other duties as assigned or required.
