Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• 3–5 years of leadership experience within Patient Access.
• 5 years experience in registration, insurance verification/financial clearance, or related areas.
• National HFMA CHFP, CRCR, or NAHAM CHAM certification required within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise each functional area of the hospital's patient access points, including registration and financial counseling.
• Regularly monitor patient tracking, registrations, and financial clearance to meet KPIs.
• Ensure accounts are verified at time of service and meet medical necessity requirements.
• Coordinate investigation and resolution of patient/family or staff complaints.
• Provide operational guidance and support to the assigned team and disseminate policy updates.
• Support coverage of other departmental divisions as required.

FUNCTIONAL ROLE

• Maintains &demonstratesknowledge to successfully supervise each functional area of the hospital including, but not limited to all outpatient registration points, emergency room registration, admissions, bed assignment & financial counseling.

• Regularlymonitorsthe patient tracking system, registrationreports& financialclearance activities to ensure patients are registered within key performance standards.

• Monitors all financial clearance activity ensuring all accounts are verified at time of service & meet medical necessity requirements.

• Coordinatesinvestigation & appropriate resolutionof problems from patient/family or staff complaints.

• Resolvespatient questionsregardingpayment requirements/charges referred by the registrars.

• Provides operational guidance & support to assignedteam,disseminatespolicy/procedure updates, supportscoverage of other departmental divisions asrequired.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field of study or equivalent combination of education & / or experience.

Three (3) to Five (5) years of leadership experience within Patient Access

Five (5) years of relevant experience in functional areas of Patient Access such as Registration,

Insurance Verification/Financial Clearance, Financial Counseling, or other relevant experience.

Obtain national certification in HFMA CHFP or CRCR or NAHAM CHAM required within one (1) year of hire.
