Responsibilities

• Communicates with unit staff and other personnel to coordinate details and determine patient placement.
• Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification or authorization when needed, ensuring medical necessity verification.
• Determines and collects required payments (co-pays, deductibles, coinsurance) or refers patients to financial counselors for support.
• Accurately enters all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information into the registration system in a timely manner.
