Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV is seeking a Patient Access Representative for a per diem role. You will greet and register patients, verify benefits, obtain authorizations, and handle forms and estimates while delivering courteous service.

The position supports the revenue cycle and collaborates with hospital staff. Responsibilities include directing patients, ensuring accurate information, and coordinating care across areas including the Emergency Room.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate required.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Patient registration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, greet, pre-register and/or register patients in a courteous and professional manner.
• Verify insurance benefits and check for authorization, pre-certification, notice of admission, physician order accuracy, and medical necessity.
• Obtain patient signatures for required forms, run estimates, and collect patient financial responsibility when required.
• Provide high quality customer service and timely resolution to customer problems.
• Coordinate services and communicate revenue cycle related issues to patients and hospital colleagues.
• Rotate into various areas of the Patient Access Department including the Emergency Room and may work a variety of shifts.
