Job summary

Adventist HealthCare's Cardiac Associates in Germantown, MD seeks an experienced Patient Access Registrar I to support hospital registration for outpatient and inpatient services. You will collect patient payments, verify insurance in the EHR, and provide front-desk support with a courteous, patient-focused approach.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in healthcare patient registration, familiarity with payer rules, and strong multitasking abilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year healthcare environment experience.
• At least 1 year in patient registration and/or eligibility and benefits.
• Knowledge of government payer rules & regulations.
• Knowledge of third-party liability (TPLs), WC and other payment sources.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Basic PC skills and office equipment familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Support hospital registration for outpatient and inpatient services.
• Enter demographic, insurance, and patient notes accurately.
• Register/pre-register patients and collect patient responsibility.
• Obtain signatures at registration/arrival.
• Process and post daily patient payments.
• Greet and route visitors and respond to requests by phone and in person.
• Update demographic and insurance information in the EHR.
• Verify and enter insurance information; notify supervisor of issues.
• Provide admin support to the Patient Access Dept. (phone, typing, filing, scanning, data entry).
