Job summary

Iredell Memorial Hospital Incorporated seeks a Patient Access Specialist to support the Director of Patient Financial Services in the efficient operation of the Patient Accounting Department. The role involves access to demographics, billing, and limited clinical data relevant to the current encounter, with a standard shift of Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Prior experience in medical billing is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A Two year college degree in Business is preferred.
• Two (2) years or more of on the job experience in a like or similar position is desired.
• Must have proficiency in English, typing, and the use of a calculator.
• Must have a good working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, welfare agencies, and insurances. Insurance billing experience is preferred.
• Ability to understand and discuss patients’ records, insurances, etc with fellow employees, the public, etc.

Shift: M-F, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
