Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Patient Access Representative to greet patients, collect demographics and insurance information, and schedule appointments. You will verify insurance, explain financial responsibilities, and collect payments at the point of service, all while upholding HIPAA and BJC’s service standards.

As the first point of contact, you will support accurate MPI selection, provide clear preparation instructions for procedures, and help maximize reimbursement by accurate data entry

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required.
• CHAA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register and schedule patients in multiple BJC systems with accurate demographics and insurance data.
• Explain financial responsibilities and collect applicable patient payments at point of service.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain patient privacy and records to meet regulatory standards.
• Maintain professionalism, empathy, and clear communication with patients, families, and staff.
