Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with an electronic health record (EHR) system is required; EPIC experience preferred.
• Experience working with homeless or vulnerable populations is preferred.
• Patient Service Representative I: minimum six months of healthcare front-office experience and at least three months of EHR experience are required.
• Patient Service Representative II: minimum two years of healthcare patient access, registration, scheduling, or related front-office experience.
• CHAA certification is preferred for Patient Service Representative II.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist patients as the first point of contact.
• Register patients and maintain accurate demographic, insurance, and eligibility information in the EHR.
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments to support clinic operations.
• Verify insurance eligibility and assist with registration and eligibility documentation.
• Screen patients for sliding fee eligibility and collect payments.
• Communicate with patients, providers, and staff to coordinate services and access to care.
• Maintain patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA and organizational requirements.
• Collaborate with clinic staff to support quality patient care and efficient service delivery.
• Follow established workflows, policies, and regulatory requirements.
