Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Experience in healthcare environment and/or customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify demographic and insurance information for patients.
• Obtain pre-certifications and insurance authorizations for scheduled procedures.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and deposits.
• Direct and escort patients and visitors to designated locations.
• Provide a resource for billing and payment inquiries.
• Oversee cashier responsibilities in posting payments and creating deposits.
• Maintain accuracy per vendor services and department policy.
• Complete required annual competencies.
• Adhere to hospital procedures for outpatient orders.
• Obtain room assignments and communicate admissions to nursing/clinical staff.
