Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Part Time Patient Access Representative to register patients in outpatient and Emergency Department settings. You will verify demographics, insurance, and diagnoses, coordinate with clinics and revenue cycle teams, and support patient flow across campuses.

The role emphasizes handling registrations, verifying insurance and eligibility, and ensuring a smooth patient journey while maintaining EMR accuracy and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required.
• General computer experience and ability to type fluently, accurately, and quickly required.
• Insurance background preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Previous medical administrative experience and/or health care related education courses preferred.
• Knowledge of health information system (Epic) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and validate patients in hospital information system to maintain EMR integrity.
• Identify and report possible identity theft situations to leadership for escalation.
• Maintain knowledge of network policy on patient identification including merge, chart corrections, and look-up.
• Handle patient registration including demographics, emergency contact, orders, diagnosis, insurance verification, and real-time eligibility.
• Manage patient, account, and claim edit queues related to registration.
• Coordinate with providers and departments to ensure accurate information and reduce denials.
• Cross-train in all locations and areas of service as needed.
• Greet and direct patients and visitors; provide courteous service.
• Promote MyChart portal and patient self-service for engagement.
• Assist patients with Welcome Kiosk and On My Way technology.
