Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Part-Time Patient Access Representative to handle patient registration at outpatient and Emergency Department locations.

You will correctly identify patients, transcribe orders, verify insurance, and collect point-of-service payments while coordinating with clinical departments to ensure a smooth patient experience. Excellent customer service, basic computer skills, and knowledge of medical terminology are required.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required.
• General computer experience and ability to type fluently, accurately, and quickly required.
• Insurance background preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Previous medical administrative experience and/or health care related education courses preferred.
• Knowledge of health information system (epic) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and validate patients in hospital information system to ensure EMR accuracy.
• Greet patients and visitors, direct to appropriate services, and enforce policies.
• Verify insurances, collect at point of service, and manage basic queue issues.
• Coordinate with SLPG practices and revenue cycle teams to ensure clean claim submission.
• Cross-train across locations for outpatient and ED areas.
• Assist patients with Welcome Kiosk and MyChart self-service tools.
