Job summary

R1 RCM, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Representative at Ascension Via Christi Mercy Regional Health Center to greet, register, and guide patients through the admission process with empathy and accuracy.

You will work across multiple systems to verify demographics and insurance, support rapid patient throughput, and collaborate with clinical teams to ensure smooth operations and timely access to care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification, or front desk is a plus
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to pass background check and vaccination requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and assist patients and families with the check-in process, using multiple computer systems to register patients efficiently
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Support timely access to care by minimizing delays in registration
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow
• Build trust with patients during moments when they may be ill, anxious, or overwhelmed
