Job summary

UCI Health is seeking an organized front desk/registration clerk for its ambulatory clinics. You will greet patients, collect and verify insurance information, and enter data into the registration system to ensure accurate records.

The role requires strong customer service and communication skills, ability to work weekends, and comfort with multi-line phones and standard office equipment. Training is provided in a fast-paced health system.

Qualifications

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Must be able to work weekends/holidays.
• Demonstrated experience using office equipment such as a printer, copier, fax, scanner.
• Demonstrated experience using multi-line telephone system.
• Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval.
• Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to make simple calculations and perform simple math.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for patients in the ambulatory clinics.
• Enter patient data into the registration system and verify insurance and/or third party coverage.
• Schedule, confirm, and cancel patient appointments.
