Job summary

The Patient Access Associate for Verona will ensure smooth patient flow and proper registration for multiple services provided in the Verona Cancer Center including ambulatory clinic registration, lab, and infusion procedures. They will interview patients to complete registration process to obtain demographics and financial information.

Determines if patient is in need of an estimate based on CMS No-Surprise Act requirements, informs patient of estimate, estimated out-of-pocket balance, offer

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and two (2) years of related patient financial/insurance/registration experience in healthcare setting or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, medical billing and excellent written and oral communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Register patients for ambulatory clinic, lab, and infusion procedures.
• Interview patients to complete registration process to obtain demographics and financial information.
• Determine if patient is in need of an estimate based on CMS No Surprises Act requirements, inform patient of estimate and estimated out-of-pocket balance.
• Offer payment plan or financial assistance as appropriate.
• Monitor registration work queue, perform quality review and provide support.
• Act as liaison between patients and internal departments.
