Job summary

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in admissions and registration.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patient/legal representative to obtain demographic and verification of insurance information.
• Obtains required signatures and informs patient of their rights.
• Schedules outpatient services and inpatient reservations with medical staff.
• Prepares appropriate chart and assigns patient room per policy.
• Documents admissions, discharges and transfers for daily census records.
• Handles scheduling changes, transportation coordination and ER charges.
• Operates switchboard and handles telephone communications professionally.
• Maintains confidentiality and safeguards patient information at all times.
• Attends in-services and participates in staff meetings, space permitting.
