Job summary

Reedsburg Area Medical Center is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to support patient registration and scheduling across the Hospital and Emergency Department.

40 hours per week with a variety of shifts including weekends, nights, and holidays. A high school diploma is required; hospital experience is preferred. Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills are essential; ability to work independently is valued.

What you'll do:

The Patient Access Specialist arranges for the efficient and orderly registration and scheduling of patients throughout the Hospital/Emergency Department.

Gather information from the patient as they check in for their appointment and enter it into the database.

Performs clerical and reception duties associated with registration.

Education and Training Required:

• High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience:

• Experience working in a hospital or other medical environment is preferred.

Special knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Good organizational Skills
• Good Time Management
• Excellent hand-written and oral communication skills, grammar, punctuation, and style
• Ability to work independently
• Resourceful; is aware of and utilizes the available resources
• Basic Computer knowledge
• Reception and/or switchboard experience
