Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 17 years old and currently enrolled in high school or an equivalent educational program.
• Work Environment: Shared office setting; exposure to noise; frequent use of computer, telephone, copier and scanner.
• Physical Demands: Sit constantly; stand/walk frequently; lift/carry up to 30 pounds occasionally; reach overhead; fine motor coordination; constant computer use; visual acuity normal.
• Essential Functions: Pre-register and register patients in the Hospital Information System and Document Imaging System; ensure accuracy and update patient data; interpret insurance information and cards; manage downtime procedures and re-initiation of HIS and Imaging System; process patient payments and explain good faith estimates and payment plans.

Responsibilities

• Pre-register and register patients in the Hospital Information System and Document Imaging System.
• Maintain accuracy with patient data and status changes; ensure 99% accuracy after six months.
• Interpret insurance information and insurance cards to determine coverage.
• Manage downtime procedures and re-initiation of systems.
• Process patient payments and explain financial responsibilities and payment plans.
