Job summary

Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley, FL is seeking a full-time Patient Registration Specialist to provide outstanding customer service during day shifts in our Registration Department. You will interview patients, collect demographics and insurance information, and establish their medical records.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of customer-focused experience, strong communication and computer skills, and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year experience in a customer-focused industry.
• Knowledge of patient registration and insurance reimbursement.
• Familiar with computer-based billing and registration systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to handle confidential information.
• Ability to follow Federal, State and Local rules.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to collect demographic and insurance information for registration.
• Establish patient medical records.
• Provide ABN, HIPAA, Patient Rights notices as directed.
• Obtain authorizations and referrals from insurers.
• Identify financial responsibilities and collect payments.
• Act as liaison between patients and the healthcare organization.
• Explain policies and direct to required services.
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy rights.
