Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley, FL is seeking a Part Time Patient Registration Specialist to deliver welcoming, accurate patient registration and insurance intake.

You will collect demographics, verify insurance, explain policies, and coordinate with staff to resolve questions while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in a customer-focused industry.
• Knowledge of patient registration, insurance reimbursement, payer source billing, credit and collections, cashiering and admitting.
• Familiar with computer-based billing, patient accounts, and registration management systems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including customer service, patience, empathy and compassion.
• Excellent computer and communication skills.
• Active listening, writing, speaking and reading comprehension skills.
• Good collaboration and teamwork skills.
• Fast and adaptive problem-solving abilities.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Follow all Federal, State and Local rules and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to gather demographic and insurance information to register them in the system.
• Establish patient medical records.
• Provide Advanced Beneficiary Notices, HIPAA, Patient Rights and benefit assignments as directed.
• Obtain authorizations, certifications, and referrals from insurance companies.
• Identify patient financial responsibilities and collect payments.
• Liaise between patients, relatives, and the healthcare organization.
• Communicate patients' questions and concerns to staff.
• Explain policies and refer patients to required services.
• Ensure confidentiality and privacy rights are observed.
• Support and promote the hospital's Mission, Vision, and Values; adhere to policies; maintain professional appearance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
