Job summary

TEKsystems seeks a Patient Access/Registration professional in Anchorage, AK for a contract-to-hire role. You will greet patients, verify identities, and set up accounts, ensuring HIPAA compliance and accurate data capture.

You will coordinate bedside registration when needed and educate patients on financial responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Strong patient-facing customer service with HIPAA awareness
  • Confidential handling of patient information
  • Ability to follow regulatory procedures and PPE guidelines
  • Experience in healthcare or business office settings preferred
  • Familiarity with Epic applications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and register them with accurate demographic and insurance data

Job description

Description
  • Greet patients and provide exceptional customer service throughout the registration process
  • Verify patient identity, collect demographic and insurance information, and ensure accurate account setup
  • Issue patient armbands and coordinate bedside registration when needed
  • Educate patients on financial responsibilities, benefits, and available resources
  • Process orders, manage work queues, and maintain accurate, timely account documentation to support billing readiness
  • Obtain required consents, signatures, and regulatory documentation
  • Safely secure and document patient valuables when applicable
  • Escort or direct patients to appropriate locations within the facility
  • Collaborate with clinical and support teams to ensure efficient patient flow
Skills & Qualifications
  • Follow all federal, state, and organizational regulations, including HIPAA, EMTALA, and CMS standards
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information
  • Adhere to infection prevention protocols and proper use of PPE
  • Participate in emergency preparedness and safety initiatives
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with a patient-centered approach
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
  • Ability to multitask and manage work queues in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and compassionate care
  • Preferred minimum of an Associate Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration
  • Preferred minimum experience of 3 years in Patient Access or Business office setting
  • Preferred minimum 1 year of knowledge of Epic applications

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anchorage, AK.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
