Job summary

Meridian HealthCare in Youngstown, OH seeks a full-time Patient Access specialist to provide a compassionate, patient-first experience over the phone and via the patient portal. You will handle registration, scheduling, and information gathering using Meridian's practice management system to connect patients with the care they need.

The role emphasizes friendly telephone etiquette, accurate data entry, and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• One year of patient registration, scheduling, or insurance processing experience.
• High School Diploma required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow standards for telephone etiquette and service when interacting with patients over the phone.
• Evaluate and identify callers' needs and schedule with provider.
• Register patients by gathering demographic information with the highest possible proficiency and verify existing data.
• Promptly and courteously answer and screen incoming calls and route them appropriately according to guidelines.
• Prioritize calls to ensure the highest satisfaction from patients.
• Verify and/or confirm appointments and provide information to assist patients.
• Communicate with team members and leadership to maintain a collaborative patient experience.
• Support and participate in process improvement efforts.
• Document caller correspondence through Microsoft Teams and Meridian's EHR accurately.
