Job summary

SCA Health, part of Optum, is seeking an Admission Representative Clerk to manage patient registration and scheduling across our clinics. You will act as a patient advocate and support surgeons, staff, and patients through the clinic experience.

You will handle admissions, verify eligibility, and maintain confidentiality while collaborating with clinical teams to ensure smooth patient flow in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or healthcare certification preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in healthcare or customer service.
• 4-5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls and route inquiries professionally.
• Register patients with demographic, insurance and contact details.
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments in the EHR.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Assist with scanning, filing and data entry.
• Handle complaints with empathy and escalate when needed.
• Maintain safe work practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
