Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance plans, and EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee patient registration and scheduling for the practice.
• Act as customer advocate and OPA representative for surgeons, staff, and patients.
• Answer calls and route inquiries professionally.
• Register patients with demographic, insurance, and contact information.
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments using the EHR system.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations or referrals.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, and data entry.
• Handle patient complaints with empathy and escalate when necessary.
• Maintain safe work practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
