Job summary

Banner Lassen Medical Center in Susanville, California, is hiring for a Patient Access/Registration role within the Revenue Cycle. The position schedules and financially clears patients for outpatient and inpatient services, handling ABN’s, estimates, and collections in a continuous workflow.

You will verify insurance benefits, educate patients on coverage and payment options, and collaborate with clinical teams to optimize patient flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience as a registration representative or in medical office operations with healthcare insurance and billing preferred.
• Business skills and experience in the assigned work area are required.
• Must be detail oriented, able to manage priorities, and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Schedule outpatient, inpatient, or recurring procedures using scheduling systems.
• Enter patient information in scheduling tool and manage files per regulatory requirements.
• Prioritize workload to clear accounts and meet productivity standards.
• Educate patients on services and prep for procedures when needed.
• Verify insurance benefits and create patient estimates; assist with payment plans when necessary.
• Respond to patient inquiries by phone with a positive, professional approach.
• Obtain and validate authorizations for scheduled procedures when required.
• Attend training and follow organizational policies and procedures.
• Propose workflow improvements to enhance throughput and patient experience.
