Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Front Desk/Call Center Specialist to join the Float Team. The role handles patient registration, appointment scheduling and insurance verification, guiding patients through the care process and communicating clearly with clinic staff.

With at least three years in customer service, you will operate multiple systems including EPIC to input data, verify eligibility and relay messages accurately.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of customer service experience.
• Experience with registration, appointment scheduling & insurance verification.
• Knowledge of third-party payors including federal, state and private health plans.
• Proficient with multiple systems during calls.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work in a busy, interactive environment with strong customer service focus.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize with limited supervision.
• Proven problem-solving ability to assist customers and meet expectations.

Responsibilities

• Answer multi-line calls and perform patient registration.
• Schedule appointments and verify insurance eligibility.
• Input and relay information via EPIC; communicate with clinic staff.
• Explain clinic deposit requirements per policy.
• Support front desk and call center duties as needed.
