Job summary

Saint Mary's Medical Group in Reno, NV is seeking a Patient Services Representative to deliver exceptional care by handling a high-volume inbound call center and coordinating scheduling with clinics.

Responsibilities include registering new patients and updating charts in the EMR, determining visit type, making outbound contacts when needed, routing calls to appropriate departments, and supporting continuous improvements with colleagues. Prior scheduling experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Position requires collaboration and customer service with both internal and external customers.
• One year minimum experience as a procedure scheduler preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English required.
• Strong basic computer skills required.
• Courteous and professional communication skills required to interact with internal and external customers.
• Strong clerical and organizational skills needed to perform record keeping and scheduling duties.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.

Responsibilities

• Inbound call handling with a daily average of 90-140 calls per day.
• Schedule appointments per provider/clinic preferences and document visit notes in the EMR.
• Data entry when registering new patients and updating existing charts.
• Assess non-scheduling calls, route to appropriate departments, and identify urgent requests.
• Collaborate with clinics, staff, and external partners to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
• Shadow training for new hires and support process improvements.
