Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of experience in access center, customer service, or healthcare setting required.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.
• Completion of higher level of education as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama will substitute for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Calls patients to remind them of scheduled appointments and to verify demographic information.
• Prepares charts and encounter tickets for scheduled clinics.
• Greets patients in a friendly manner and verifies insurance information.
• Checks patients in and out of clinic and handles billing details.
• Verifies insurance coverage through carrier websites and documents necessary information.
• Maintains medical records and processes records requests per HIPAA and policies.
