Nova Southwestern University in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Patient Access Coordinator to manage registration, scheduling, and insurance verification within a busy clinic setting.

Responsibilities include collecting payments, updating records in EMR and billing systems, and coordinating with faculty and staff to ensure smooth patient flow and compliant operations. Requires HS diploma and experience in customer service; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel).
• General knowledge of English language structure, spelling, grammar and usage.
• Understanding of customer service principles and quality standards.

Responsabilités

• Coordinates patient access operations, including registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and patient flow, while maintaining accurate demographic, insurance, and account information in electronic systems to ensure compliance and a positive patient experience.
• Schedules patient appointments and manages provider schedules to maintain efficient clinic flow and support operational and educational requirements.
• Verifies insurance eligibility, processes referrals and authorizations, and ensures required documentation is completed prior to patient visits.
• Collects patient payments, explains financial responsibilities, and supports patient account management including payment plans and account inquiries.
• Enters, reviews, and updates patient data within electronic medical records and billing systems to ensure accuracy of patient information and financial transactions.
• Monitors patient flow and patient queues to assist in coordinating timely care and efficient use of clinic resources.
• Responds to patient inquiries and resolves concerns while providing high-quality customer service in accordance with institutional standards and HIPAA regulations.
• Communicate effectively with faculty, students, residents, and administrative staff to coordinate patient scheduling and operational needs.
• Assists with insurance billing processes and ensures accurate documentation for third-party insurance and self-pay patients.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
