Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join our health system in Danville, PA. You will check in patients for appointments, verify demographics, and read insurance responses to assign primary, secondary, and tertiary coverages accurately.

You will communicate financial obligations, collect copays and fees at the point of service, and ensure all regulatory forms are completed while upholding HIPAA and patient confidentiality. This role supports a patient-centered care team.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients for appointments and accurately verify demographics.
• Read and interpret insurance responses to assign primary, secondary and tertiary coverage.
• Explain financial obligations to patients and collect copays/deductibles at time of service as appropriate.
• Ensure necessary regulatory forms are completed and patient disclosures are provided.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate referrals or ancillary services when needed.
• Maintain HIPAA privacy, confidentiality and patient rights at all times.
