Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for greeting patients and coordinating with clinical staff.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and coding preferred.
• Proficiency with medical office technology systems and data entry.
• Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions clearly and accurately.
• Typing or data entry speed around 40 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
• Register patients into the computer system and verify/update demographic and insurance information.
• Assists patients with ambulatory difficulties; follows office scheduling policies.
• Collects payments and enters charges into the computer system.
• Answer phones, screen calls, take messages and relay information appropriately.
• Maintain neat and orderly front office and reception area.
• Inform Practice Manager of problems and assist in solving them.
• Attend educational and staff meetings as scheduled.
• Follows policies and OSHA regulations and inputs daily financial balances.
