Job summary

Southern Jersey Family Medical Centers, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Representative to handle high-volume inbound and outbound calls in our ambulatory care setting, including Internal Medicine, OB-GYN and Dental services.

You will provide courteous patient service and accurately register demographics and insurance details. This full-time role requires a flexible schedule (8:00 am–7:00 pm, Monday–Friday with occasional late shifts).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in ambulatory care or a medical/dental practice with scheduling and registration experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and EMR systems.
• Proficient typing and strong computer skills (MS Office).
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume setting.

Responsibilities

• Answer high-volume inbound and outbound calls in a courteous, professional manner.
• Search for patient records to minimize duplicates in the EMR.
• Collect demographic and financial information and enter into the Registration Database.
• Schedule appointments according to department protocols for all providers.
• Assess patient ability to pay and provide information as needed.
• Route calls to clinical or support staff as appropriate.
• Manage voicemails and faxes; maintain interpersonal relations with callers.
