Job summary

Prism Vision Group seeks an onsite Patient Service Representative for The Retina Care Center in Aberdeen, MD. You will handle inbound/outbound patient interactions, scheduling, check-in/out, and revenue cycle tasks while upholding HIPAA and privacy standards.

The role requires 2+ years in patient-facing healthcare or customer service, strong English communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Occasional travel to other Prism locations may be involved.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in a patient-facing healthcare function or other customer service function
• Bilingual a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communications in English

Responsibilities

• Schedule and complete full registration for patients requesting appointments with attention to detail
• Initiate pre-registration and ensure demographic/insurance information is current
• Verify insurance information, benefits and referrals
• Obtain IDs and insurance cards to verify patient identity and coverage
• Adhere to HIPAA privacy standards
• Ensure smooth patient flow through the care process
• Provide appointment and payment policy information to patients
• Provide upfront financial counseling and discuss funding options
• Collect funds per guidelines and communicate financial obligations
• Act as liaison for patients, physicians, and staff to resolve issues
• Notify relevant parties about appointments, referrals, and authorization requirements
• Train other patient services representatives and maintain excellent service
• Comply with company policies and standards
