Job summary

River Hospital is seeking a friendly, per diem Physician Practice Management Clerk (PPMC) to join our team. You will manage patient access services, verify insurance eligibility, schedule appointments, and check in patients, while ensuring accurate billing information and delivering excellent customer service.

Your strong organizational and communication skills will support outpatient and admissions workflows, including obtaining authorizations and coordinating with physicians, nurses, and staff

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years prior experience in a Hospital/Physician Office as a Clerk, Scheduler, MA or NA.
• Experience in a related outpatient position preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance, Medicare and Medicaid practices.
• PC and keyboard skills required.
• Accurate clerical skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with diverse groups including physicians, nurses, therapists, patients, and families.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient scheduling and registration for all outpatient and ancillary departments.
• Manage switchboard operations, petty cash, mail distribution.
• Organize and manage Admissions office, its records, files and systems.
• Obtain and verify authorizations for scheduled outpatient procedures and inpatient admissions.
