ESCAMBIA COUNTY HEALTH CARE AUTHORITY is seeking an On-call Patient Access Representative to greet patients, process demographic and insurance information, and handle payments with Cerner-based billing experience. • Process financial forms (demographics, HIPAA, NPP, consent forms).
• Obtain and verify patient information; update as needed (name, address, phone, insurance).
• Collect co-pays and payments; provide receipts for all transactions.
• Maintain strong knowledge of Cerner billing and patient accounting processes.
• Check in scheduled patient appointments and create new patient accounts as needed.
• Review insurance benefits on insurer websites and interpret coverage.
• Balance money collected daily and reconcile payments.
• Answer phones and direct patient inquiries; support team as needed.
• Attend staff meetings; perform other duties as assigned.

Job Duties

• PRN-on call Position
• The job duties include, greet patients, create friendly helpful communication and interaction skills with patients.
• Process all financial forms. (demographics, HIPPA, NPP, consent forms)
• Obtain and verify patients information and update when needed (name, address, phone number, insurance, place of employment)
• Collects co-payments/payments on accounts.
• Provide patients with a receipt of their payments made.
• Strong working knowledge or financial/billing in Cerner.
• Performs check-in of all scheduled patient appointments.
• Creates new patient accounts as needed.
• Able to review and interpret insurance benefit information on the insurance website.
• Balances all money personally collected daily.
• Answer phones and direct patient inquiries as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Attends staff meetings as scheduled.
• Provide patients with handouts informing them of updates and changes as available.
• The candidate must be willing to work in a fast past environment, able to communicate clearly to physicians, patients, and multiple personnel in person and by phone. This person must function as a team member, have strong interpersonal skills, and able to multi-task. The job requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
