  • Adhere to organizational and HIPAA guidelines, ensuring privacy, confidentiality, and patient rights.

Job description

Responsibilities:
  1. Check patients in for appointments and verify demographics accurately.
  2. Ensure completion of check-in procedures, monitor patient wait times, and communicate updates to patients.
  3. Read and interpret insurance responses.
  4. Understand insurance guidelines and rank requirements to assign primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance correctly per encounter.
  5. Provide necessary disclosure and privacy information, and obtain legal and financial signatures.
  6. Explain financial obligations to patients and collect fees at the time of service as appropriate.
  7. Complete regulatory forms with patients, explaining their purpose.
  8. Schedule follow-up appointments, including specialty or ancillary services, to complete patient visits.
  9. Process messages related to patient and physician requests regarding appointments, referrals, prescriptions, and complaints.
  10. Notify patients or guarantors of anticipated financial responsibilities, including copays, deductibles, or coinsurances, and collect payments accordingly.
  11. Perform cash posting following department guidelines.
  12. Adhere to organizational and HIPAA guidelines, ensuring privacy, confidentiality, and patient rights.
  13. Work independently on work queues to resolve accounts timely.
  14. Maintain productivity and quality performance standards.
  15. Uphold confidentiality at all times.
  16. Maintain and release medical records accurately.
  17. Assist with referrals and pre-certifications during encounters.
  18. Utilize and maintain patient recall and reschedule lists properly.
